new black halo head lights with 8000k hid kit

i bought these after having the truck for ten days. pic 1 is of the stock head lamps with stock gray grill. i painted the grill black and installed the halos. it made the truck have that interceptor look that i was going for. the install took 1 hour tops and the majority of that was the taking off of the plastic covers. the stock ones are two pieces and came out in 15 minutes. two clips that you pull out and i think two screws hold the side marker in. you just cut your turn signal wires and hook those into the ones that are hard wired into the head lamp. i hope this maybe gives someone an idea for there ranger.

when it gets dark can you get some shots of the light output against a wall or something?

No you can get up to 30k. 8k is not the best for driving, try more like 5k.

i think it would come down to personal preferance for being the best to drive with. howeve i would pin it on 5500(havent seen) to 6k. my 8s are nice when im on the highway all by my self and i have on my high's and my piaa's...i can see for ever! but i would hope so lol! not saying 8k is bad its just that extra bit of blue i didnt want.

I've heard the projection from these particular light is terrible. I would be interested in these but if I use projectors I want an OEM style projection.

Actually - the light output on my 6000k 35w bulbs w/ 50w ballasts pushes it to right at around 5500k temps, and is a rather nice color. I want to try hooking up some 4300k's to my current projector setup but I havent had the time/money to dig aroudn in the bulb business and track down which ones fit - I can say that driving around in the country at night - 8000k is horrible, you need a 4300-6000k to distinguish brown from green, hence - a deer in the bushes. It isnt so bad for city driving, but I tried a buddies 8000k and it was pretty much unusable at night where I live, it didnt throw near far enough for safe driving @ 45mph+

these are the same one is was looking at getting but i had a few questions that never got answered.
like do any hids fit in these lights cause I've heard of people having problems fitting the longer bulbs into these, and second I've heard of one person of having fitting issues such as there is a gap under the light to the bumper and the light overhangs on the sides. what are your opinions on these problems and like everyone else I'd like to see a light output shot.

bam! cheap crappy as all hell, as expected. But still better than HID in a halogen reflector. Not by much.
