Fog lights behind new style grill???

Fog lights behind new style grill???
I really like the look of fog lights behind the grill, and want to do it to my ranger. The problem is mine is a 2006, which has the newer style grill. I have the chrome one on it now, but I am thinking about buying a black replacement grill for it. Has anyone put fog lights behind a newer style grill (06 and newer)? I don't think it will look good, because too much of the light will be blocked, but I could be wrong. It may look okay with the black grill. I just don't know. If there is a replacement honeycomb grill for 06 and newer I will do that, one, because I like the look of it better anyway, and two, because it will look better with lights behind it. I just can't find any replacement grills that are the honeycomb style for 06. Any help? Pictures are always welcome. Below is a picture of what it looks like. I actually have a camo ford emblem now, but other than that it's what you see.

Get what you pay for lol. A $300 led bar will be far brighter than cheap halogens.
And when it comes to light. Why bother adding crap light that will barely add visibility.
Just my view on the matter.
I've got 2 visionx 4500 HID spot lights going on hood mounts and 2 rigid dually D2's on the way.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't realize you didn't know I had halogens with 130 watt bulbs then compared it to a friends led's and noticed how shitty halogens actually are
So before you try and tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, maybe you should take someone's advice and not try to sound like an Internet tough guy.
But hey, if you want subpar lighting be my guest. If I'm gonna put lights on my truck it's gonna be the brightest I can get.
I guess you also missed the part where I have vision x 4500 HID's. But hey, enjoy those crappy halogens! I'll enjoy being able to actually see ****

Dewey's Lights
Here are some pics from this afternoon. If you do want to go with this kind of idea, Go for 6 inch off road lights with 100 watt bulbs. Mine cost about $160 just for the lights and then I used 10 gauge wire hooked to a 50 amp relay that I have rigged up in the cab. The two switches are for my front big lights and my back utility lights. I would advise the relay because it keeps all that juice from coming into the cab since the relay barely takes any juice from the switch. Last of all, protect the relay with something like my frosting container so when you drive through a deep puddle, it won't short out and get you pulled over.

I'm not going to tell someone that they need to get the most expensive thing on the market because I know first hand that not everyone can afford it.

Led bars aren't that expensive. You spent probably right around 200 total for yours, plenty of led bars in that range that will give off more light, last longer, and draw less power.
Just passing on my knowledge. He wants one to for behind the grill, an led bar will, and not be blocked by the grill.

Drama aside, Nick has a couple of options on his table.
a: LED bar using existing grille
b: swapping on a 04-05 Edge/4x4 XLT grille and installing lights behind it.
The idea of off road lights behind a 06+ H-bar grille baffles me....because the bars block alot of the light output. 04-05 grilles fit onto all 04+ grilles and the honeycomb of the Edge or XLT 4x4 allow the light to pass through in a useful fashion.
2006+ Ranger's don't have the bolts in the bumper for an easy no-drill light bar set up like 98-05 truck's do. Should you choose this option, drilling into your bumper pad and actual bumper underneath is required.
To help in the decision making process, I came across this picture and thought it looked pretty cool! Imagine that grille and billet on your truck with 6" KC's behind it!
Here is member ranger4.0's truck with the grille I suggested above...

Actually the 06+ trucks do have those spots to attach lights behind the bumper. They don't have bolts in ten, just push clips. But you can take those out and out in bolts.
That's how I ran mine for a while before I tossed them on the bed facing back.

I think Vista4.0 did it to his? Using a STX/Sport insert inside an XLT shell. I'm just going off of memory so I may be wrong.

Very Well Put Sir...I'll not deny that 6.2 has a vast amount of knowledge and parceled out that knowledge to quite a few people. But you're right, Dude...he is about the most condescending person on the Planet. And you're right when you make the point that everything he mentions doing to one's truck is the most expensive option. And he is,at times, a rather smart *** and extremely demeaning You don't have a monopoly on getting angry because he is such a self centered jerk, right.
Just let it pass and you'll get used to his "Holier Than Thou" attitude. He does that on about every forum he posts in. He knows it all but he hasn't quit dragging his knuckles off the ground long enough to develop any social skills.
So, don't mind him...it's your ride, Partner, and you are free to build, within your economical means, your truck the way you want to and not be bullied. Just let it ride...
