See? The 4x2's are the Rodney Dangerfield of Rangers -- Ranger Dangerfield!

[In Rodney Dangerfield voice] "I don't get no respect, no respect at all. My mechanic installed a snorkel on my truck -- for me. He installed a glass bottom on his truck so he could see me at the bottom of the mudholes. No respect, I'm tellin' ya'. I asked him what kind of axle to put on my truck and he said 'Axel Rose. It'll give you something to listen to while your waiting for the winch'. No respect at all."

..."I asked him what I could do to get more power, he said, 'Get a new truck.' I asked him for a shock and he told me, 'Your truck is a piece of crap.' No respect, you know what I mean? I said I needed a body lift and he said it wouldn't do any good, I'd still be ugly. No, no, I told him, I just need more clearance. 'You're telling me', he said, 'if you get any fatter you're going to need a 4-door to get in.' No respect."

You remind me of a particularly harsh day in a ski lift not long ago. I was on the 4-person gondola w/ two of my so-called 'friends' and a random stranger. We got into a discusion on 4WD and how sweet it was for the ride up that AM. I had the Ranger XL at the time and had a helluva time not getting stuck. My two friends started ripping on me for my 'lowly' 4x2 and the other guy asked what they were talking about. One graciously explained about how craptastic my truck was. This complete stranger turned around and said something to the effect of "They actually still make trucks like that?! Must be a Ford!" (He had just mentioned he drove a GMC fullsize.) My friends (one a Jimmy driver) throughly enjoyed that one.. Like you said, no respect..

That was the last winter before I 'upgraded'!

Anyhow..

The conversation was harsh, not the ride. The gondola at Loon is enclosed and actually pretty nice. A bit tight w/ four less than optimally fit guys in it, but pretty nice..
