I haven't seen these lights or even heard of them until now. However, going by the name "BlueVision", I am going to issue a pretty good guess they are usless "rice-lights" with a fancy marketing name. I wouldn't waste my money on them.

I doubt they are "cheaper silverstars". I posted EXTENSIVELY on here on headlight technology and I suggest you look that up by searching here and reading it thoroughly.

To summarize: blue bulbs are either dimmer than standard, or hotter than standard, or have potentially a very short life -- there are no exceptions.

The one thing you may have going for you on a 93 is that the wiring may be heavier. But higher wattage generally makes older sockets cook also. I wouldn't bother with blue headlights if you care about being able to actually see where you're going. They are only for looks, and are VERY ineffective.

It's all an attempt to get the "refringence" color from real HID's. They shine blue around the edges. Incandescent lights cannot do this without filtering and that reduces the available light. To get brightness back you need more power or thinner filaments. No exceptions.

Higher power=cooking the electrics and thinner filaments = shorter average life

I'll repeat what I said when you first got those: they really "update" the look of the truck and make it look like a later model. It's ASTOUNDING how much the look of the headlights can influence that. They really are sharp.

You are okay if they are the same wattage -- but they won't be as bright I can virtually guarantee. When you filter out the red and yellow end of the spectrum (to make the light blue) you lose brightness.

You can get it back by using low resistance thinner filaments (more expensive process) like Silverstars but even Sylvania warns they generally don't last as long (more fragile). The other way is by more wattage.

That's just how it is with incandescent lamp technology. If you're willing to have dimmer lights in order to have the blue look, then that's it. Me, I prefer as much light as possible and I don't care what color it is as long as I can see well.

those xtravisions are stock color but brighter. silverstars are brighter and have a white light. the xtravisions and silverstars are the same brightness but one is normal light and one is the white light. i <3 my silverstars but when these burn out (been almost two years of mixed driving) i think ill get the xtravisions.

hey 93ranger, u cant get a pic of the difference between them and stock could ya?

The XtraVisions are a little less bright than the Silverstars BEFORE the blue coating is put on the Silverstars. Xtravisions can last slightly longer than Silverstars for that reason. I posted a chart about that in a thread I started on headlight technology which is probably still on the board somewhere. It should be a sticky but I don't think it is.
