Possible idea... Mud truck or Ranger Upgrades
Possible idea... Mud truck or Ranger Upgrades
I am considering buying one of these mud trucks and keeping my ranger, or just throwing the money into my ranger...
Which is a better idea?

Agreed and I called the guy and he said he is replacing the manual fuel pump this week. I like it a lot.
anything but the dodge. chevy, parts are everywhere....ford, its a ford, duh. toyota, good find. good little mini truck and will do anything...
i say the ford cuz im partial and it looks badass. but go with whichever looks cleanest and with little rust

agree with everything you just said. I think the f150 has the least rust, most of the rust is over the left rear tire. Dont mind it though.
if its strickly a mud truck id go with the chevy. it already has 3/4 ton axle and parts are EVERYWHERE. the ford is nice but its a 1/2 ton. i can tell about the dodge but parts arent as easy to find. and the toy, i wouldnt use it for a mud truck, but a trail pig it would be #1.
i'd for sure go with the toyota you can hever go wrong with a straight axle and if its got 115k is gonna last atleast another 100000 with no transmission problems and if anything went itd be cheap and easy to fix because theres nothing to em. just an opinion but id either mod the ranger or stick with the toyota. lol
Yotas have major frame issues, been there done that.....Id be afraid the ford is to big....Atleast to wheel, A small truck is a better bet for trails. Why not find a lifted ranger?, for a cleaner Yota, or Nissan, Just watch the frames.
EDIT....The dodge will be very under powered with a 318. Thats a 5.2l, no ***** under the hood. Itll be like a 3.slow with 36's and a 3:55 final drive.

I have a 3.slow also, I'm Pushing Brandy new 33's and 4:10 gears.
My mom had a 98 Ram 1500 ext cab sport 4x4 it had a 318 in it, She used it for towing horses when we had a horse farm. It was terrible, She got rid of it with in a year or so and got a 99 F-150 ext cab Sport 4x4 with the bigger motor, Now that truck was awesome.
