Ranger/Explorer 8.8 Rear End Swap Kit

Does anyone make a Bolt-in Kit to Swap an Explorer 8.8 Rear End in place of the stock Ranger rear end ? I know a lot of people modify the Explorer to fit but its a little trouble to figure out what must be done. Then you have to buy the spring saddle brackets, shock mounting brackets , and then find a Welding shop that you can afford. If their is any interest I would like to develope the kit. Hubert Craver

What's the advantage of going from a Ranger 8.8 to an Explorer 8.8?

31 spline instead of 28 spline axles, disc brakes, different gears and usually LS.

As someone seriously considering the axle swap to improve my brakes, I'm interested in my options kit-wise as I don't have welding ability and the one person I would take this to is very busy and doesn't have the time. Granted, I'd prefer welded over bolt on any day.

Whata need a kit for? It's a SWAP-IN, you can use the stock shock mount location on the frame with the Explorer U-bolt brackets.........I seen it done on a mid-late 90's Ranger............I elected to move mine for personal reasons, I don't much care for the cross shock setup.
Here's mine:

I'll see if I can find the pic of the one with em in stock location......

Ok, a change for the sake of a change. I see, it's a way to spend money and time.

No, not really. It gives you stronger axles, better braking, better traction, better power and mileage if you change tire sizes. It's not just to spend money and give you something to do, its a very useful and effective mod.

nope, tried it..

the flip kit was designed for a 28spline axle, not an explorer 31 spline..

So its not wide enough

however Superlift's explorer lift USED to have a flipkit for the axle, but now the kits come with leafs

Yeah thats what I was referring to was getting a axle with different gears. Say you had like the extreme 3.27s, then you could go to 4.10s. Lol idk I just threw out some reasons off the top of my head.
