Plasti-dip on wheels?

Anyone ever done this? Would it work?

My wheels are flaking, and I'd like to do something cheap instead of new wheels...

Thanks, I'm looking at the darker of the "smoke" colors...I don't like their colors and I don't think straight black would look good on my truck...

If some dude can paint his entire Audi with that stuff and drive around for months with it not peeling, it'll definitely hold on wheels.

It's all in the prepwork. Get them clean, no dirt, grease, or wax. Only the true surface of the wheel (chrome, clear anodizing, etc.)

^ Those look good! Never thought of using bedliner on wheels. I wonder how they are to keep clean?

I read through the thread and guys didn't complain about peeling. I'm sure they're easy to touch up if any chips occur.

hmm, Interesting! Thanks for the link, I would like to know the cleaning part too...

But this is just something to get rid of the eyesore that the wheels are, this is like a mask...

They'd definitely be easy to touch up if need be... I've used the Duplicolor stuff and you can just spray right over the old stuff and you can't tell the difference.

That's the beauty of Plastidip... try it out and see if you like that look. If you do, go ahead and bedline it. If you don't then just peel it off!

I was able to put two coats on 3 wheels and one coat on 1 wheel, spray my side emblems, and put a strip on my hood for stones and such all with 1 can of Plasti-Dip.
