Tonneau Idea

Okay so my friend is tossing his 97 sierra tonneau cover and I was thinking about taking it and cutting it up to fit. What do you guys think?

If it's free you may as well give it a shot... if it's a short box it might be close to the right length? That way you'd only have to try to shorten one side.

Its about 2 inches longer but its really wide. I was thinking about cutting a good portion out the middle and fiberglassing it back together.

I was thinking soft cover... lol. That wouldn't be too bad at all then. I'm sure you could figure out a way to reinforce it and then make it look good!

always cut it in the middle and fiberglass the inside. also shortin it in the middle, one or two places depending in the taper thats needed. lay new glass on the inside, rosine on the top after it has been set up. back fill, prine and paint, should work fine. Fiber glass is great and fun to work with, just take your time and remember to let every thing dry really good. I have boat repairs for years. Good Luck
