i was thinking about getting a bigger horn for the Range i figured that a train horn should be big enough i found an old one in my grandpa's barn hahaha

 

i found 2 24 inch trumpets off of one of my dads old trucks... they will b hooked up before summer :)

 

hell yeah its pretty funny when you are sitting a in intersection at scare the crap out of people lol

what makes up the horn tone? i want a big rig type air horn.(deep blast) how is it different than the train horn?

 

train horns are ok as long as used properly. and properly is NOT to "scare people" at an intersection.

 

It's the difference in 3 horns and 2 horns with making different chords. Trains use 3 horns while big rigs and dump trucks use 2 (sometimes only 1). General rule of thumb for deepness: the bigger around the base of the trumpet (not the bottom housing) the deeper the sound. What actually MAKES it lower is the "whistle" diameter in the housing.

Would anyone be interested in having a thread with recordings of different types of horns? With so many different ones coming up I think it would be helpful.

 

no, additions to your truck are add-ons... adding a fake roll bar is an add on. adding mag light brackets is an add on not a mod. modification is changing an existing part of a truck, thus the definition of modify.
