Trimming Front Plastic Bumper,,

Would cutting this section off affect the integrity of the rest of the bumper? Like, would it crack or flap around like the rear bumper of Crown Vics do at high speeds?

i doubt it will do anything as far as cracking........it might cause the lower part of the vailance to be a little flimsie.....

You could always cut it and leave about a 1/4 inch lip and see how it works. That might keep a little bit of support on the bottom. Anyway, if you don't like the look you could cut it again.

I was thinking out cutting mine when I had a '01 XL. I ws planning on cutting it off, and adding a couple supports using some 90 degree 3/4inch sheet metal, in case it flopped around in the wind.

my first time on the trail, that was the first part to get ripped off, half way up a the trail it was half on, so i unpluged the lights, ripped it the rest of the way off, looks bad but at least i have the lights for when i fab up a new bumber:)

FYI dont ever go offroading in a newer ranger without a new bumber and a GOOD skidplat, the radiator just sits too low... at least when ur offraoding in the MTs in WA state... lots of stumps and rocks
