Very expensive idea
Very expensive idea
I have 3 duratec 2.3 dohcs all 2002-3, what if, and this will probably take me about 3 years total to map and make two duratecs into a single V8, i have spoken with scatcrankshafts, in theory with a single turbo the standard ecoboost 2.3 turbo, or two for each bank, if the 2002-3 make about 145 hp give or take quality, make about 280 hp again with a grain of salt, 4.6L dohc, i would like to run a flat plane crank and at 60 degrees rather than 90, i know ill have to mod the hood but what do you guys think, i have a 3d printer that i can use to create model intakes for it then send to a company to custom make or cast an intake off the best design i can make, so maybe 6 years with that, will try and preserve the m50dr1 bolt patter, i avg with a duratec 2.3, no cats, flowmaster 44 dual muffler, about 25 mpg city and 32 highway, p235 32inch size all terrains by BFG, 4.56 diff to take away from needing to adjust trans reader for speedo. i bought a 2005 ranger with no engine for 200$ but has everything from m50dr1 all the way back and 4.1 diff and stock tires p235. if anyone has any ideas share em and when i get started im gonna record everything with no cuts.
I'm in case rn slicing the 2 blocks at 60° and with the intake being in the center, the problem being that the heads have to be mirrored otherwise exhuast and in on center etc... That kinda problem, but I think it can be finnesed and a new head made that is reverse of what is normal so that both in can be up top and exhuast the sides
