Wheel spacers ?

Wheel spacers ?
So I have some 245/r17’s on my 2008 ford ranger but I get some rubbing when the wheel is turned all the way , it’s not too much of a problem but it can get annoying especially when I need that full turn . I’ve been thinking of running some wheel spacers .. maybe like 2 inches, but I’ve kind of been put off by all the negative talk about spacers. Any thoughts or experiences?

I have the same issue and did some research here. My conclusion is that I am going with 1.5 inch Rugged Ridge spacers. I probably could have got away with 1 inch but amazon had 2 used\repackaged for $70 vice $136.
If you want to really figure out what size you need you could measure the back space on your wheels and compare it to stock wheels for your model. There is a really good post on this site that explains all the rim terms if you need to brush up on offset and back space. It makes a difference if you have a 2wd or 4wd when it comes to back space. That's how I got into trouble in the first place. I bought the stock rims and tires from a guy that had a ranger but they rub. Probably had a 2wd. The other problem that I read here is if you space to much it can increase the strain on the spindles/axles/bearing etc...
I will use locktight on the studs holding the spacers on and be sure to torque to specs.
Good luck!

Front wheel spacers came in and the 1.5 inch set worked great! No more rubbing the sway bar or hitting the upper ball joint when suspension is in full drop. Used medium blue locktight on the inner studs. Make sure there is no oil or grease on the old studs so the locktight will work. I used brake clean and a rag. The wheel does not stick out past the top of the fender flare so it will pass inspection. I like the new look. Back set should be in tomorrow I guess. Good luck with yours.
