Rear Replacement Shocks !?!?!?

2003 Ranger 4x4, 5-sp, with SL 4” Lift.

Frt Susp: 4” SL Brackets w/ Coil-Over

Rear Susp: 6” SkyJacker FR36 Leafs (replaced the OEM Springs and the two sets of block) and SL Shocks.

Rear Spring oscillates when I hit small bumps, need a shock to dampen ?

Added Duff Traction Bar, help very little.

What shocks will work and how much ?

Thks

I recently just did a lot of searching for shock length info. I couldn't find anything on length for the SL shocks but what I did find was length for the RCD shocks. They are 20" compressed and 34.5" extended or something like that.

I have Procomp shocks on my truck and they're really stiff, you feel every bump. I know that like you said the Superlift shocks are the opposite and don't have enough dampening. I found Rancho offers the RS9000XL shocks which are 10 way adjustable via a little **** at the bottom of the shock, so you can set them up for how you want them to ride. My truck should have the exact same amount of suspension lift in the back as you have and after doing a little measuring I found that the 16.875 compressed / 28.125 extended shocks are what would be best for me and have the shock basically in the middle of its travel when I put them in. Here is a link with part numbers from Ranchos website.

Rancho Suspension: Shocks » Extended Length

I'm putting the "RS999028" shocks in the back of my truck soon so I'll let you know how they are if you want to wait, but I feel like they're probably our best option short of a full custom valved shock.

Kory,
thanks for the info I was thinking about the adjustable shock setup but wasn’t sure which ones to use.

i will talk to a few suppliers and see.

What prices have you found ?

ltr

p.s. is the Mounting Points the correct size for the Ranger ?
I put out a few feelers to get pricing, availability and check the fitment and asking for a Ranger-Forum.com discount.
Time will tell.

Contacted Rancho and they said it will mount with an extra metal bushing in the lower mount, which it does not come with and the length.. the seem to indicate to me that it is OEM length.
What about the 4-5” lift, will that require a longer shock ?

Wonder where we can get the info from ?
