These needles are for the 2004 and newer ranger clusters. The OEM needles are a translucent orange color, and when you replace the factory incandescent bulbs with blue LEDs they won't light up any more. The reason for this is that Blue and Orange are opposites, and do not pass through each other. I found this out experimenting because I was the first person to do a fully converted 2004+ blue LED cluster. I've learned alot with these projects, and feel free to take advantage of this knowledge. When I built my cluster I bought twice the number of needles that I really needed, so I'd have spares. Now that my 2004 is gone (sold) I have no need for the extras.
