Sorry for the boring story, but did I get a good deal? No major scratches and no cracks at all.

So I was at the junkyard yesterday and I saw the PD hood on the only ranger they had and was thinking about buying it for my truck because mine is a little cracked. So after I had finished looking around I went inside and asked the guy how much he wanted for it. I said "How much do you want for the hood on the red ranger?" (The only ranger in the yard) He said $80. So today I go back and confirm the price before pulling it off the truck and he agrees with $80+tax. I pull it off and bring it to him and he looks at me like i'm crazy and says "You realize that hood is fiberglass right?" I said yes? why? "Because those are very expensive" I look back at him like he is nuts. I guess he thought I was talking about a steel hood when he said $80.. woops. He let me have it anyway.

No problem. You should just do a front end conversion while you're at it.

It will fit on a 98-00, but IMO the front edge should be modified slightly. I don't like the way it sits against the 98-00 grill.

it will go over your grill like 1 millimeter. its not a big deal. or you can just twist those black ***** on the front and it will fix it.

It depends on the thickness of the composit material up there, but it may be a matter of just sanding it back a bit. Otherwise, you might need to glass it.

Look at <TX>TORKiT's truck. He has a powerdome with a 98-00 grill. It fits. I just think it would look 10x better if the gap was consistant:

OK on the gaps but look at the Hood Lines and the Grille lines, they don ot match up…

His truck looks good overall and someone may not see it.

His grille looks amazing !

I was going to say ask 99offroadrngr but he spoke already.
I think he got the grille/shell and the panel behind it (?)...

Oh, by no means did I mean to sound like I was putting down his truck. I love his truck. I'm just **** retentive about lines and gaps being perfect, and his truck is one I knew off the top of my head that's put a powerdome on a pre-01 grill.

Well, put it this way: they're not "bolt-on" interchangeable, but a little ingenuity can make a lot of things work. I'm actually thinking of picking up a newer grill and modifying it to work with the 98-00 headlights just to do sokething different.
