If you dont mind me asking, how do you hook up something to them?
im not really familiar with toggle switches lol.

I'm calling dibs on about 5 of them.

If you don't mind holding them for me please.
Ill pm you and do the PayPal deal when I get back into town from work.

SteelDirigible 12-27-2011 05:31 PM

i dunno haha what i am unsure of is why they need 6 terminals. its just on or off i thought. could be like a relay kind of deal i dunno. but I don't have a wiring diagram or anything. I want to look into it though because I want to use some myself.

I can sure hold onto some for ya.

StxDangerRanger 12-27-2011 05:33 PM

I think those are double pole double throw switches.
I haven't a clue how to hook them up either, but thats my $.02

SteelDirigible 12-27-2011 05:44 PM

i think you're right. I'm doing some research now, i'd hate to sell something misinformed.

I think this is what we're looking at:

I'm an electrician and that is off of some kind of appliance. As it says it can either be 2 pole or single pole switch(120 or 240 volt)

would it not be ok in a 12v system?

anyway here's my interpretation of how to wire a DPDT switch... basically to alternate between two things, say either a red light or a green light, forwards or backwards, up/down, turn on the cb radio or turn on the amp (ya know, like if you want to avoid interference when using CB?) basically any two thing s you dont want on at the same time. or of course, just dont wire up a second thing for a simple on/off.

you get the idea. here's a pic. brandon or alex tell me if this is right

Brandon97xlt 12-27-2011 06:19 PM

Technically yes it will work BUT I wouldn't use it. the way that switch looks is that it is a your power is going in the center(common sense) and it is either going to one light or the other. If you have an Ohm meter I would check it first before I assume. Cuz when you assume it makes an "ass out of u and me"

SteelDirigible 12-27-2011 06:25 PM

well right, maybe lights are a bad example. but that's basically how it would work if wired as shown, in the up position it powers accessory 1, and in the down position would provide power to accessory 2?

Brandon97xlt 12-27-2011 06:31 PM

Yes sir

StxDangerRanger 12-27-2011 06:48 PM

Yea, brandon is pretty much right, As well as your Diagram.
They're neat switches, but i don't really see a bad side to only using one side of the switch, but thats just me.

bump. Still have all of these.

Scrambler82 11-21-2013 04:50 PM

Wiring these are easy.
Power to the center, load to one of the outside lugs.
Can be set up as on-on or off-on, or can be wired to turn on an indicator light when power is applied to another load.

I like them for backup lights, down the lights work with the trans, switch up puts the lights on full. With this switch you will either have the lights on or in an auto mode.

Also, you can use either or both sets of terminal.
They are more overkill than anything else, usually bigger than standard on-off SPST switches.

SteelDirigible 11-21-2013 05:08 PM

Ah, thats a pretty good idea. I might have to keep a few just for that reason.

Taylor 11-21-2013 05:09 PM
