$400 f150 project
I just bought a 84 f150 for $400, it has a 351 Windsor with a 4 speed manual. The truck currently doesn't run but needs an intake manifold, carburetor, fuel tank and radiator. It has 35in tires, a 6in suspension lift and a 4in body lift, it also came with a 350 Chevy motor in the bed. My plan is to find body panels in better shape or bang them out with a hammer and to get it running so i can have two trucks.

I got a carburetor (4bbl Holley) for $30, now i need an intake manifold, radiator, battery, alternator, exhaust manifold, and maybe a gas tank. Good news though I was talking to my older brother about my truck and he is sending me a $400 check for parts, now i need to go to the junkyard.:biggthump |

Is your brothers name John?
|
My advice? Take off the 4 inch body lift, and hack the fenders to make the tires fit

4 inch body lift is usually too much stress on the bolts. The cab can shear right off the mounts. Is it going on the road? If it is, then you now have to worry about liability if you get into an accident

If you can get the cab bolts off, the rest is easy. Just make sure when its going down, they havent modified anything that is going to bend or bind. Like brake lines.
But if your going to take it off, why not leave it off? 3 inches and lower is the general rule. |

By the looks of it they should. But I really don't know those Fords too well.
Why are you scared of trimming? |
