04blackedge Log

Figured I'd start one of these. Drove it off the Carmax lot like this:

Minus those wheels and the jet lol

Met up with a old member from here and took her offroadin for the first time:

First mod! Some grille inserts from Winks:

Then some FX2 decals from another member:

New rims and tires from yet another member:

Line of fire from the same guy:

Then Mustang domelight from another member (great mod!):

Then I tackled the OHC (best mod in the world):

Then got some clear corners:

And the R/F stickers:

Got a free CB from my grandpa:

Another interior shot:

Then bad stuff happened, black ice + pole = more work and less money for me:

But with bad things, also come good things. Started rebuilding the truck with parts from certifit.com(highly recommend!) got a 04 grille, header panel and chrome bumper for 156. Found out I need a new crossmember because mine is too messed up to mount the bumper too. The plans are for a chrome bumper with a black 03 valance with fogs. Newest pics:

Summer plans are hopefully explorer full console, BL and 33/35s.

I know, I was suprised as well. I'll keep it for now, I might go back to the stock 04 grille. Shoot its only 40 bucks from certifit either way.

Looks great man.

Question for you: does the stuff from certifit brand new? Or is it like a huge junkyard place? I want to know if i would have to paint my stuff from them.

The stuff is brand new. The one in Raleigh, NC is a huge warehouse. The stuff is wrapped in plastic and in boxes and stuff. They let you check it over before you pay for it, which is cool. The header panel and grille I have on right now in the newest pics are straight from certifit on my truck, no painting or anything. Shane told me you were thinking about a edge conversion, it would look sick on your truck. SouthernMudSlinger just did a 01 Edge conversion on his truck with parts from certifit, you can search for it he posted pics.

New mod! Explorer center console. Finished the 60/40 mod, recovered the armrest and started painting the console until I ran out of paint tonight. I'll finish it up tomorrow.

Here's some really crappy pics:

Pile of parts that I took out of my interior and the console:

60/40 mod:

What the armrest was orginally covered in lol:

and how it is now:

Big thanks to my girlfriend, she did the majority of the work on the armrest and then helped a lot with the 60/40 mod.

Haha heck no, it was really nasty too all dirty and everything. I was looking at getting black suede or something but the fabric store didn't have anything close. Maybe some other time...

The black suede would look great! Maybe add a thin layer of memory foam for some comfort to! It looks a lot better, BTW what are your plans for the CB to be mounted? In it? Or rig it up by the front?

Dude memory foam would be so sweet haha, I'll have to steal someone pillow with it. I'm still working on the CB actually, I think I might mount it on the passanger side, but i dont know yet. Inside it would take up a lot of room. I'll figure something out tonight.
