STL's 1989 project
Tore into the interior today will be tackling the body hopefully next week
The inside was NASTY carpet was moldy. There is a water leak somewhere around the back window. Should be replacing that some time
Under the carpet was nice and clean. need new floor rubber grommets for the passenger side
Onto the pictures

1989 Ford Factory speakers made by Jensen
Carpet all tore out
Found this under the carpet had all the truck info on it. Guess it was a build sheet
Also removed the very large side mirrors. Will be replacing with smaller ones

2.3L Turbo 190 HP with 5 speed trans, 150 HP with automatic trans
I have seen where people have modded them and are around 250Hp or a little higher

define "a little bit of work"... r u talkin forged internals, racing cams, heads, turbo, and intercooler? only then would i believe that a 2.3L 4 cyl truck engine from 1989 would put out that much power. stock its like 100hp

The SVO Mustang 2.3 turbo engine with the intercooler can handle 21lbs of boost. I think it put out around 270 hp and some crazy tq numbers.

This is going to be one badass truck once done. I'd love to 2.3t my truck. Actually, plan on doing it at sometime in its life...
omgz dude. a 2.3t already has forged internals and a turbo. duh. and you only have one head. Guys put down easily 300hp out of a 2.3t, and you can do it all for under $2000.
