hey kev i think some of ur problem of why the sagged so much is partly due to ur shackle angle being that extreme i talked to carlos and he thinks that could be the reason also if u moved the hanger back about 2 in u should be golden

but hey good luck on the coil swap u gotta get this done so u can some run with us

I think its abit of everything Justin. Regarding the shackle angle, your/Carlos's suggestion could be somewhat of the culprit. To my own falt I actually moved the rear hanger forward (probably about 2", ironically) to lower the front when I should have gone with a shorter shackle. Shackle aside, I still think its more the spring rate and my 4.0. Also, as compared to All Pro's rear leafs, which have (I believe) two more leafs.

Anyhow, yeah I'm excited to go to coils/links and get it done to wheel with you guys. I saw the pics from Memorial weekend; looked like alot of fun!

WOW! Glad you are switching to the "good" side with those coils! You will like the ride and flex a lot better.

Update!

My Ballistic packages arrived last week. I cleaned up the brackets/pieces and tacked 'em together. Then set up each 'side' with the coils on a mock axle tube (yes, unbelievably and remarkably, there was a 3" diameter tube in the scrap bin at work). The spacing between them is arbitrary, so don't ask/read into it..

^ Upper link frame mount. (I realize after uploading the pics the bracket is upside down from how it will be mounted).

Looks good man, but what is the benefit of having an adjustable coil buckets?

to make it level!

hey Kevin, for those lower spring mounts put/weld a ring on there to keep the coil in the center, i need to do it to mine, what happens is atleast for me the coil likes to slide around and not stay centered.

Well unfortunately this update doesn't bring quite the best of news..

After the last pics I posted, I was able to fully weld the brackets. However, the next day for unknown reasons the 'priveledge' myself and others had to work on personal projects at work after-hours was suspensed until Septemper-ish. Unless I can get some work done at home (my Dad has a pretty good supplement of metal working tools, plus a Miller 130, but not nearly some of the better equipment) I don't know just what I can get done in the interum. I'm gonna see what I can do..

my buddy is running 5" All Pros on his 94 Taco with a 3.0 V6

is there much or any difference in weight between the SOHC and OHV?

this problem is probably going to influence my choice between leaves and coil overs...

do you have any pics of your whole truck with them flat like that?

Remember Matt I have the 4.0. That plus the weight of my front bumper and my winch add to the weight issue.

Check out the finished pics in my sliders thread for an overall pic of the truck from several different angles.
