If you have a aux tranny cooler you can just disconnect the inlet tube to that and drain some off. Why did you post this in project logs?

He was right with the cooler being the easiest (well vs sucking some out through the dipstick). You will either have one or two coolers. One will be going into the radiator with two hard metal lines going to the trans. Take one loose at the radiator (some fluid will come out), and you can probably jack the rear up enough to get some to come out at a decent rate. If you start the engine, expect a quart in about 15seconds or so. (just a guesstimation!)

Most everyone uses Active Topics so it just pops up there. Project Logs are for serious projects, not just for draining some fluid. The lines are going to be rubber, at least they are on my truck.

Lines will be rubber to the aux. cooler (mine are). However he might not even have an aux. cooler. Anyway, the fluid also goes through the cooler in the radiator for the aux., which are hardlines straight into the radiator, easier to access/seal/etc in my opinion.
