My 2wd Chase Truck Project

My 2001 Ford Ranger Edge is about to begin its overhaul. currently the only thing that has been done to it is,
Clear Corners
a mild Tbar crank
Corbeau Baja SS racing seats
Corbeau 3 Point retractable harnessess
and a set of 31x10.50 BF Goodrich all terrain TA's.

Tomorrow though, is payday here on Ft. Carson. Guess What that means? I can start buying my parts.

The first item on my list is:

Camburg Racing Edge 6.0 Dual Shocks Performance kit. im gonna get it with the Fox Racing Shocks.

there will be more too come soon, but for now i will post some before pics.

Is that a Rollcage? Or at least a hoop? Should be a sweet little build up. Definitely keep us posted as it gets done.

well im living in the barracks on Ft. Carson right now, and the single shock kit should be plenty for the little amount of wheeling ill be doing. i just moved here so itll be awhile before i go out exploring the offroad scene. plus the dual shock kit would just be overkill. i figure if i decide i want the dual shocks later, i can just add them on. hopefully i will be able to finish my little project before my deployment in 2011.

anyways i ordered the Camburg Entry Level 6.0 kit with the Bilstein shocks today, and total shipped was about 1,550 bucks. it would have been 1,800 bucks even, but military discounts Rock!

go to polyperformance.com, corbeau has seat mounts made specifically for rangers to mount their seats. the mounts are nice.. they are powdercoated grey, and you can get them with sliders. ill see if i have a pic of them.

well i went wheelin today, and of course i got stuck lol my 1wd Ranger doesnt do very well in pea gravel lol. so i am definately going to have to get a locker. and regear. and get 33's.
but yea, i was stuck, and Flexed to the max, front and rear. i got stuck in the most simple place too. but i was on a one lane dirt road, on the side of cheyenne mountain. the side of the road was about a 1000 foot drop, so it wasnt the best place i could be.

Well today i ****ed up my nice tailgate. i had to drive up into the rockies at about 0400 this morning for a 6 mile footmarch, was meeting the rest of my platoon up there. well i got lost of course, had bad directions and ended having to turn around on a two lane road. well i ended up backing up into a tree, because i cant turn around to see where im backing up to. so now i have a tree sized dint from the bottom to the top of my tailgate, on the drivers side.

All the more reason to replace it with a tire carrier.

well my plans for my truck have completely turned around and advanced in the other direction. not lifting my edge, in fact, i am going to lower it. not sure if i will do the coilover conversion, or just the key flip, but i know i wanna get about a 4/5 drop, and 20inch American Racing Rogue wheels with 255/35/R20's. And my rollpan just came in from Street Metal so im gonna try and get that installed and welded up. and since i ****ed up my tailgate the other day it would be a great time to go pick one up from the pick n pull, and shave it. of course i have zero experience in doing this kinda ****, but hey i got the money to do it, and the time to learn.
