Project: Double D

Hey everyone,

figured I would make a project thread since I've been working on my truck the past few weeks. I call it double d because it is my daily driver right now, hoping to make it into a project truck only in the next year or two though.

Truck:

2003 ford ranger xlt 2wd
3.0L
torsion bar front
8.8 with 4.10 gears in the back
automatic

goal:

drop the truck a little bit, add some power to the 3.slow, make it look nice.
have fun, and learn a whole lot more.

what I did today:
during:

finished:

and some more pictures of my truck about 2 weeks ago all cleaned up:

update:

bought the pulleys today =]

Question: do you have to have air tools to install the pulleys? I do not have access to any air tools and would like to install them my self but if i have to have air tools then i can not do it my self.

also hoping to be buying reindexed keys on wednesday.

got another question: if i were to get a 5" flip kit for the back would the back sit a lot lower than the front with the new keys in the front?

you dont have too but it makes things a hell of a lot easier...just get yourself a decent size breaker bar and you will be golden

update:

pulleys are here!
will be attempting to install them on monday or tuesday.

also bought drop keys today from illusive today, hoping that I can get these on and flip my shackles and hangers on monday or tuesday as well.

we will have to see.

Question: is there a good write up of how to flip shackles and hangers some where that im missing?

I have a pretty good understanding but i want to make sure I know exactly what im doing before I start.
