I think you may have accidentally posted pictures of the wrong truck...I believe your 2000 is the recipient of the 5.0. No biggy, easy fix, you can thank me later.....

Looks like a fun build! Any other plans for the truck? Lift, lower, sleeper, SAS? And what tranny are you going with? T5 T5 T5 T5 lol

djfllmn 05-19-2011 06:04 PM

i didnt see anything on the motor internals...did you just do a stock rebuild or did you build it up a little bit

i would love to 5.0 the 2000 but dude to the inspection crap here in nc on 96 and up trucks its not worth the trouble. t5 will be installed later down the rd. sense i cant find one around here in my price range and i have a nice rebuild aod i got for free. when it decides to puke ill change it over to a t5

well got a lot of work done this weekend.. ended up geting the old 2.0 out and geting the 5.0 down into its new home and boy they arnt kidding about clearance problems this is one long motor. gotta tuck the rad under the core support but its where its going to set i let the drive shaft figure out where the motor is going to sit and went from their
Attachment 82613
the old tired 2.0 almost out
Attachment 82614
out and good bye.. that had to be the most weekest motor i have ever had
Attachment 82615
5.0 going in for the last and finale time
Attachment 82616
in now to wire it and make a trans mount

bigandrw 05-22-2011 09:29 PM

With these body style rangers, all you hve to do is notch out both sides of the core support and slid the rad. Right down in the slot. That's the only way I'm going to be able to squeeze a radiator in mine. Unless I do e-fans and a radiator in the bed.

How come you didn't put your headers on before you dropped the motor in?

99offroadrngr 05-22-2011 09:41 PM

nice! its coming along great

Oh ok gotcha. I guess on mine ill be having a body lift, so Ill be able to bolt them on before I throw the motor in. Looks good though. Is that just rattle can high temp paint?

Redrocket 05-23-2011 06:49 PM

ya i sprayed the firewall bechind the motor with it before i sat it in their

Ardy 05-26-2011 06:47 PM

This looks awesome. :D

Redrocket 05-26-2011 09:22 PM

well worked on the truck again today. got the heater box back in after i cut the ac stuff out of it and patched in the big hole with sheat metal. it will work till i can get to the yard and pick up a non ac heater box and just heat it up with a heat gun... also got the shifter installed for the auto trans and got the tv cable installed on the trans and ran up to the motor. and went on the hunt for upper and lower rad hoses. ended up geting some universal hoses sense the others i tryed didnt have the bends i needed.. also got some of the wireing finished. still waiting on the e fan and throttle cable bracket kit for the carb and a new oil filter recloation kit sense summit sent me the wrong one.. ill get some pics up in the next few days after i get back from the knox meet.. looks like next week she should be runing again.

bigandrw 05-26-2011 10:03 PM

heck yeah man. your going to have to get some video clips of it laying down a little rubber. I cant wait to have a big block to throw that big block in mine

Redrocket 05-29-2011 09:01 PM

well had a few electrical bugs but after that i finaly got to hear her fire up and run.. she sounded mean... now gotta finish some wireing and waiting on my throttle cable bracket to come in then should be able to take her for a drive
