I just ordered my pillow block just now for $21 shipped... Now I'm reading up on the shaft beard made, but I was curious how yours went together.

That's way too much for a small pillow block bearing like that. If you knew anyone that worked at a factory, they could get you one for next to nothing more than likely. Hell, I might have a hookup on these things...

I'm not worried about it, it'll be here when I start the swap, so I won't have to track it down. Some things I don't mind spending the money on... The part itself was actually on $7, but shipping was $14, which is ludacris.

...well if you ccould find me a heimed one....

and my shaft was the expensive but easy way.

i found some joints that adapted to a collapsable shaft. cut it to fit and voala

i can get pics of it.

but seriously....i feel like i woulda rather gone the yota shaft way lol. but whatever.

Well I suppose that's a pretty good price then. They are pretty heavy lil buggers, so the shipping would rape you. Is it a Dodge (not the truck manufacturer) brand bearing? The Dodge brand seem to be, in my experience, a VERY solid bearing.. I've been in industrial fan manufacturing for at least 12 years..
