thanks guys, wasn't expecting you SAS guys to chime in. i didn't think it was going to be comparable to a straight axle.

as for how/why/what happened. the tire had been turned inward for a week or two. i thought it was alignment and i could take care of it after the meet. the new kit is a uni-ball spindle.

as for an update:

today i started to clean everything up and prep. the kit was sent last night and should be here friday. i have UPGRADED to the performance 6.0 instead of the entry level. i figure if you're gonna do it right, do it right the first time. so they sent me the dual shock mount w/ 4 bilsteins.

oh, and my girlfriend is on summer break so she's letting me borrow her car.

so here's an update before work. sorry for lack of pics (limited time).

i installed the upper control arms and replaced the ball joints on the lower control arm. had to search junk yards this morning to find a spindle shaft because when i got my package on friday, the spindles didn't have any. they are at a machine shop while the shafts are being pushed in.

hopefully, it will be at least drivable by wednesday using my fabtech shocks. and next weekend i'll have the new dual bilstein shocks mounts welded.

UGH!!! i'm really starting to get frustrated. come to find out, i need to order spindle shafts from camburg directly, so i'm waiting for them to contact me. installed the UCA and waiting to get these spindles ready to install. i'll probably re-wire my stereo today or something since i'm still waiting...

still ripping my hair out and bumming rides. as of now, i removed the upper control arms to cut off the stock shocks mounts in preparation for welding. i found out i had to order stock spindle shafts from camburg (waiting on shipping, expecting today/tomorrow). and i called performancelifts.com because when they shipped the kit, it was missing the brake-line extenders and limit straps. those too are being shipped from camburg.

i rewired my amp power wires to hopefully eliminate the leak i had from the passenger side kick panel. may look into some kind of bed liner for the cab.

as soon i as get parts, and can start putting things together, i'll post some pics. and YES i already have a spot picked out locally to test my front *claimed* 10" of travel. should be getting some good videos as well. my brother has a new under water housing for his HD camcorder. so if it rains.... we'll have to see what we can do.

Sice you have the keys and cranked bars I don't think you will get 10", if it was all stock with just the Camburg kit you prob would tho.

i'm not gonna crank them as much as i can. i'll probably keep it at the level in needs to be so it feels right. i hated when it was cranked as tight as possible with the keys. i couldn't even read my stereo/phone it was so shaky!

good news. got my shafts delivered about an hour ago and went up to Total Truck (a machine shop that works on dump trucks and that sort). took the guy 10 minutes and all the guy wanted was $10 for beer. i'm getting a family friend to come by saturday to weld the shock mounts. waiting to find out what happened to the brake lines and limit straps -then i'm on the road!!!

todays update:

Finally got a call back from performancelifts.com, the missing parts (brake lines and limit straps) are being shipped directly from camburg and will be here on tuesday.

i started putting things together so i can make the spots for the shocks mounts to be welding, i realized i had to remove the aftermarket torsion keys and put the stock keys back in. i'll update again on saturday when the welding is done.

ALMOST DONE!!! (this phase anyways)

shocks welded today, bolts tightened and bearings packed. tires are only on for viewing purposes. i'm still wait for brake line extenders so i'm not driving it. the alignment is so out of whack that i'll have AAA tow it to get it fixed.

that is one nice looking spindle. looks quite a bit sturdier than your old fab tech one. You better post some nice jumping videos once it is all done
