Sport Trac. Its going to be for my daughter once I get it sorted out. From what I understand it has a bad cam and it happened after new timing chains were installed...

No its hard to find good deals on ST's I got this one for my daughter.
damn i want one bad
Awesome, looks like it's in good condition. how many miles on it? Have you thought about just buying a dolly instead of renting them all the time? It would pay for itself pretty quickly.
Is this the one from Uniontown? Looks pretty clean!
Looks nice.
What you you anticipate the cost being to fix it? |
looks nice but how do you feel about your daughter driving a bigger truck than you?

Just a little update....I got her purin like a kitten. The drivers side cam had jumped time because there was no oil in it...Let me explain... When I got it the plugs were out and the ds valve cover was off. The first thing I did was put it back together to see what the deal was. Well it was atleast 3 quarts low on oil(I checked it before I even tried to start it) It ran but had no power. This is my first SOHC motor so I did some online research. From what I read online I suspected the primary timing chain had jumped so I took the front of the motor apart and it was in time and the guides were good. After some head scratching and comparing online photos I figued the cam was out on the ds. I set it on TDC and reset the cam and it runs great now... For those not familiar with the SOHC timing chains, they use a tensioner that is pressurized by oil pressure, without oil pressure it can't keep the chain tight. But I have been dealing with a title issue and I have not messed with it much. I finally got the title today! I should have it on the road monday...

she'll love the s/t. i sold my ranger and bought me an 02 s/t 4x4 with 43,000 miles with leather int, panosonic sound, sun roof, auto, tonneu cover, the whole works foe just 9 grand. i really lucked out. i will either but on a bl on 33's or wait awhile and put an l/t suspension. i love my s/t.
