I've been searching CL in the surrounding states for a Level II axle and I found this. 2002 ford ranger fx4 $4800

The crazy thing is he had the truck listed at $5500 and didn't get it sold. So it either is really rough or no one down in TX wants a Level II.

AC and power steering needing fixed might = it has been beaten. Something has to be wrong if he is only asking $4800.

But it is a heck of a deal if those are the only 2 things wrong.

 

Im betting there is more wrong than he is letting on, there are only 2 reasons to sell a vehicle way below its value
1. the person is an idiot.
2. he knows its going to cost a ton of money soon in repairs.

 

Of course the guy could just be a moron, and the pw steering may just whine, and the ac may just need to be recharged..

 

If it needs to be recharged theres a leak some where.

 

Well my '01 had about the same mileage last year and needed a little freshen-up, but it's fine now.

 

That doesn't mean much, R134 is made up of super small molecules that can find the small gaps to seep out of. Leaks can be cheap, easy fixes if you have the stuff to fix it, or if its not a bad leak then just put a can of freon in it every year or two. If you dumped $1000-1500, maybe even $2000 it wouldn't be a bad price. Its still fairly low mileage for its age.

 

If the mild lift is a 3" body lift, its reasonable the tensioner pulley rubbed a hole in the AC line.

With two accessories not working (ps and AC) its also reasonable that the engine was hydro locked and he installed a junk yard engine and ran out of money/talent before he got all the accessories installed, recharged, bled, etc.

Anything is possible. Its also an 8-9 year old truck.
