i have a 2008 ford ranger 4x2 no power windows nor power locks... when i try to startr it it will not crank or start at all... when it does start the speed ometor is like 101000 *for example* but when it does not start it shows it as - - - - - - and acts like battery is dead.... the batter is brand new,, got it saturday feb 18th if i wait a few days it usually will start and may go for months before it acts up agian... any ideals....

 

When you put the key to the on position, does your dashboard turn on? Does the horn, light etc work? I had an issue like this a few years ago and it was a ground wire that had corrosion on the starter itself..
