WTF is that little banner in the bottom corner ?

Sometimes I like to come in and check out a thread I am following because I got an e-mail and get out, without logging in and this new thing is in the way.

You have to do something else, time limit without logging in maybe but the little banner is a PITA !

Please talk about removing it, too many limitations and people/members won't want to come in.

Maybe you can set it up so no posting without registering but the banner needs to go.

Best I can do is recommend logging in.

 

Please understand that there are things IB won't let us change, and denying guest's the ability to view the forum is one of them. However the banner at the bottom is intended to be a PITA and encourage you to log in. It accomplishes that very well while still allowing a guest to view the forum.

It's already set up so you can't post if you're not a registered member, always been that way. We will talk about removing it, but the stats already show improvements in registration and the amount of users logging in.

After all you're much less likely to make a post if you aren't logged in in the first place.

Thanks but it is still a PITA.

I understand the theory but when you just want to do a quick view its in the way.
Sometimes its the looking that get the people to register too.

Too bad, maybe I will get the wife to register, lol…
