New Features and changes

-First, Obviously you've seen the chatbox which is located at the top of the forum index and also on the portal. Let's not act like complete children, It's a cool feature that has had to be removed in the past because people can't handle themselves. I'd hate to have to do that again.

-Second, a related threads box will show up at the bottom of certain threads. It will not show up on every thread as they have to meet certain criteria. It will usually show 5 related threads when it is there.

-Third, The latest poll will show up on the top right of the portal. This was suggested by a member not to long ago to bring more attention to the photo contests.

-Fourth, We've added a spoiler hiding feature. You'll notice a 'spoil' icon in the advanced post box, click it to add spoiler tags around your text. Text within spoiler tags will be hidden until a button is clicked.

Example:

-Fifth, All threads will now contain 25 posts per page, as opposed to the 18 previously.

-Sixth, A new user group has been created. The "RF Veteran" group will contain any non-supporting members that have a minimum of 5000 posts. The exciting thing about this group is it has the same avatar, album, and forum viewing permissions as a site supporter. Also lets not forget: Ads are kept to a true minimum. If you are a member of this group you'll see the ad on the header and that's it! In my opinion this is a great way to give back to those members that have stuck with RF through it all.

Have a great day and as always, if there are any suggestions we'd love to hear them.

Nice! the calendar is pretty cool as well. Will there be a way for a moderator to add events to specific dates? That would be pretty awesome as well, once meets get planned.

Yes we can do that. The only problem I see with it is that it's somewhat difficult to distinguish the a day with scheduled event from a regular day. I created a test event on the 20th so you can see what I mean. Unfortunately the only way to change that is to change the color for the entire forum layout, but maybe I can add an underline or something.

ah yeah, i see what you mean. Its like when you post an in-text link on a thread, it's a little hard to distinguish at first. Not really a big deal if it cannot be underlined, just something cool i thought about which is already existent lol

I like the calendar idea for showing upcoming events. It would be even better if you could subscribe to events and have reminders for them

It would be nice, but as far as I can tell it's not a feature that's supported with vbulletin. The best we can do right now is add an upcoming events box to the forum index. I didn't get too deep into it since I'm not sure how many events we'll be adding to the calendar currently.

Thanks! How have you been lately Adam?

Also, if there are any 5000+ post members that are site supporters and would still like the RF Veteran badge send me a pm and I can add it to your name.

Few and far between lately... lol. I've still been collecting more parts and working at small things that don't seem to amount to a whole lot and pretty much invisible in pictures.

I've also been busy with other things and to top it off my Mazda had an encounter with a deer when my wife was on her way to work a couple weeks ago. We got it back from the body shop and I wasn't impressed with the repair so it's back there again.

The new "RF Veteran Member" status is a good think but how about a member who is an RF Vet plus a supporting Member, what color is their name... LOL !

The new changes are good, thanks.

Well yeah if you want both I can manually add you to the veteran group. Your username would still be green though, because site supporter is still a higher rank. Look at Adam and Pedro above, they have both badges.
