He tried but im not stupid
haha gotta love mechanics!
i got lucky theres a shop right by my work that we always send people to because we don't work on mufflers. i went in to get a quote for my single in dual out magnalflows with 2 1/2 pipe and he hooked me up for $200 installed since half their business comes from us haha. he even threw the tips in for free.
agree with being young and having people try to pull a fast one. everyday i have people wanting "someone with more experience" to take a look at their car...i might be 21 but i've had my job since i was 15 lol. and my father has owned his own shop for 23 years so needless to say i just might know a thing or two

Roll Tide!
Lol. You'll get used to it and its not really just heat. It is mainly the humidity something that ive learned to hate lol. Especially on those partly cloudy days, where itl pour 5 minutes then the sun will come out blazing. That's definitely when i truthfully hate how humid it is.

Bird is absolutely right! In some states all auto repair work has to start with a written quote. If you make a deal before the work has started, make them start an invoice and write up the final price. Another thing is pay them 50% up front, and mark invoice 50% paid. If they fail to do the job right you still have half your money and they will have to get the work done correctly to get the rest of their money. If they insist on charging you more for that same work (nothing else failed), make them write it on the original invoice, first try to get them to honor their price, most people can't afford to leave their vehicles for days at a repair shop, so pay the price, then go to small claims court with you invoice. Before you go to court send a written demand for refund payment of anything you paid extra. Make a point of quoting the business code they violated and that you are allowed to sue for damages due to their negligence. You will not lose in court, you may not get the damages, but the threat usually will make the shop pay up.
Pulled into Sooner Tire and parked on top of a 7up can with LF tire and waited in showroom for alignment. 45 mins later I was told my alignment was finished and I owed $59.95, when I was quoted $49.95 just 45 mins earlier. Walked out to truck...LF tire was still parked on top of 7up can, truck never even moved. Those guys are absolute jerks.
