Motorcity Reman
Junk. Don't buy their crap.
Got my high output alternator from them and it was really tight and hard to turn, but got looser and more normal after turning it by hand showing people. Threw it in the truck and it sounded like an electric scooter. Took it out and let them know and they emailed me a shipping label and had me send it back, they said it was probably from shipping and it happens every once in a while.
Sent it back to them and a couple weeks later got it back and it worked good. Then I noticed it could only keep up with my measly 500w amp at idle when the truck was cold and the idle was higher. Once the truck warmed up and the idle dropped below 1000rpm it couldn't keep up and I had pretty bad voltage dropping issues for a supposed 200amp alternator (stock is 95 amp).
I emailed them and they said it probably needs a smaller pulley so I got their smallest pulley and put it on. Everything was going good for about maybe 6-8 months? Then it exploded while the truck was revved high. Had to have the truck towed home because the alt was about to lock up, luckily have AAA. Take the alternator out and pieces of metal and ceramic I believe were just falling out of it. Told them and they said they will fix or replace it under warranty.
Paid to ship it back to them, and about a month later get a new one back. Open the box and it came pre-broken like the very first one. Awesome! I'm done with their garbage products. Never buy anything from them, I'm throwing this POS away.
