I just gotta say its one badass phone. 1.3 megapixel camera. Awesome graphics and pictures. And the MP3 player in it rocks. Ive been spending alot of today figuring it out. Overall one badass phone. And nextel has been awesome. Direct connecting people is awesome. Greatest thing I ever did. And I also want to thank Ryanrebel125 for his help. He's helped me out A LOT. So 10 out of 10 for Motorola I870 for Nextel. I cant wait to get headphones for it and many years enjoyment on this high tech device.

 

When I had my nextel. I had no service literally 25% of the places/time I had it. DC would never work, I ALWAYS got the annoying *** beep saying it could not connect to the person.

 

Ahh the wonderful world of Nextel. If i didnt get a business owners discount which is 25% off of my plan I would have switched by now... instead I have Alltel as well. Nextel phones are okay at best, the technology and size is from the 80's unfortunately.

 

as soon as my contract is up....im done with nextel...dunno where im goin but im goin somewhere else

 

Anyone with int'l nextel radio? my radio is 335*2921 if spoke spanish is better...

 

i am in love with my 870

 

iv had my I830 for about 2 months now.. i get service everywhere and even places my cingular wouldnt get... most of my buddies have nextel as well.. which is another reason i switched

 

for me...ehhh the service is less than exceptional. I got it in A LOT more places with cingular. I get "User Not Available CO" a lot...when in fact that person is idle. A lot of weird crap. I was actually thinking about getting a sidekick...i dunno though.

I just love the DC...thats what keeps me with nextel...oh and the 25% disc. too!!!

does anyone remember the lil trick on your phone that kinda scans towers or something with nextel? picks up alot better after i did it last time, but now i need it again. i think it was mike @ sj lighting that posted it.

im thinkin about saving some money and getting a 870, and renewing my contract since its up in august.

My girlfriend's got nextel and I think it's horrid. Terrible call quality, expensive plans, and i always have to listen to her b!tch about how big and crappy her phone is lol.

 

I agree the plans and phones are slightly more expensive. But well worth it, well worth the direct connect. I get full reception inside a walk-in cooler in a grocery store that i work at, so that says something!

 

i've got the i870 and like it. haven't done anything mp3 wise but plan to sometime. glad to hear you like it.

 

i don't use the mp3 all that much...i still don't have headphones to use it.

I did that thing...i got reception basically everywhere i didn't before. Thanks a lot!!!

Nextel is awesome... had it for over a year now... I got the I870 for Christmas this year... excellent phone... better than the other one I had (I860)...

As for cingular.... if you think Cingular is good, you obviously spend no time on the phone... their plans suck... yes, rollover minutes are good and all, but they don't even compare to free incoming calls... I had cingular with 800 anytime minutes... that is until I went over 4 months in a row... one month with Nextel I used a total of 17 anytime minutes and over 1400 total minutes... Nextel rocks!

Just my $.02 and my opinion... nobody take it personally.... just venting... three $250 bills with cingular... I HATE THEM!!!

my plan and phone is cheaper then anything i have ever gotton out of cingular and i had them for 4 years and 3 diff plans and who knows how many ****ty phones..

 

You will..it's a little different. And the reception goes "in and out" but other than that...awesome phone. Quick flip for teh win!!!

 

Ive had their new Blackberry for about 2 months now, and I love it. Ive had no problem with nextel in the year and a half ive had them. I wouldnt be able to afford it though without my discount through work. Lil pricey, but im a tech junky so why not.
