I had heard good things about Ruff Stuff Specialties from a couple of members here on RF and decided to buy a cross member mounting set from them to use when re-installing my drivetrain. I recieved the mounting set within a week but had two problems with it and thought I would share to give an FYI to other members here. The bushings were suppposed to come with zirk grease fitting installed on the piping, but they were no where to be found. There was no taped hole for them and the actual fittings themselves were not in the kit. Second the supplied bolt and bushing sleeve did not fit together at all. For the life of me the bolt did not fit in the hole, I cleaned it out, re-drilled the hole but to no avail. I ended up having to purchase a new bolt and modify the crossmember tabs. I have e-mailed Dan at Rough Stuff about this and I am currently waiting for a response. Just thought I would share my experience. I listed a link to the part I ordered below.

We spoke about a week ago and I offerred to send the correct items, it was pretty obvious my new guy wasn't being watched well enough that day.

When being critical please remember to come back after you hear back from the company. Don't leave something hanging, allowing people to think we could care less. We are here for the long haul and if something gets sent out wrong it gets taken care of.

What happened was the new guy put 5/8" bolts with bushing sleeves and tabs that have a 9/16" hole, a simple but completely our fault problem. He also forgot that they needed zirks.

 

You are absolutely right about coming back and updating this thread, I had forgot about it. I did get a very fast reply from you through e-mail and fixed the problem quickly. The rest of the cross member kit was nice and beefy, just the wrong bolt gave me a headache. I will be buying from Rough Stuff again.

Bought my 8.8 axle swap kit and Diff cover to go with it. Great set of parts. Very Heavy duty. And great customer service! Can't wait to put them to good use.

my only complaint is the enormous alley key needed for the fill plug on the diff cover.. but the cover itself is BEEF

it gave me an excuse to buy another tool i didn't have yet, so no hard feelings

 

I couldn't find the 9/16th anywhere. So I just got a bolt and extra nut to take it off and on haha

I was just gonna replace it with a conventional bolt, but they didn't have the bolt and they had the allen wrench
