A little rant/rave thread about the oddities of our rides...

Some I have noticed recently...

Only in a ranger does the frame flex so badly that is cracks the windshield.

Only in a ranger does the weatherstripping come from the factory with a gap in it to allow me to stick a coat hangar in it to unlock my door.

Only in a ranger can a 4.0 L engine make 170 HP.

Only in a ranger can you sit and justify spending more money on her broken bits... even when the truck has depreciated to less than the cost of maintenance you have already done...

Only in a ranger can you spend all morning in the bush sliding between trees that larger vehicles need to bulldoze, wash it off and have a looker after lunch.

Only in a Ranger will you find more people rolling their trucks than other vehicles.

 

Only in a Ranger will you find that you don't get rear doors on an extended cab.

Only in a Ranger will the slave cylinder fail after 12 months of use.

my ranger 4.0 is rated at 207 HP
My ranger's fexing doesn't crack the windshield
my ranger doesn't have a gap in the weatherstripping
my ranger hasn't depreciated much because i take care of it.

 

hopefully my ranger hasn't depreciated much either, cos I'm going to a dealership to get it appraised!

but heres one,

Only in a ranger, can you get a V6 with the power of a 4cyl. and the fuel economy of a big block V8

You drive around looking at other peoples trucks thinking about what parts you can rip off of them and then you wonder why those people give you bad looks.

If you pulled up next to me and started asking what bolt pattern my wheels were, I'd knock your teeth out too.
