Ok as the title say's im looking for a vehicle for my mother. She has about 2 grand to spend and she is set on a explorer. So what im asking you guy to help me do is look for a nice vehicle for her. Now her a little bit of the story on my mother, she is a single mother due to the death of my father in 99, she is 100% disabled due to a docter opening up her back and messing up royally thus so leaving her with missing about a foot over her back bone missing leaving the spinal cord to float around. She is always in pain and can never ever do anything. So i know its not much to ask of but if there is anyway you guys can help me out and look around for me. I am willing to drive around 150 miles away to look at a vehicle. Once agian thank you guys. Ranger Forums is the best!!

no she is is able to walk but not for long she has to sit down like every 15 mins, she wears a back brace almost all of the time. She is always home and never out of her chair. Thanks Dan but she is to damn picky the mini van would be out the window and the escort is too low for her to get into.

 

Now see my neighbor has a 1998 ranger single cab flare side, and it needs a starter and a batt. The guy is asking a grand for it, it has over 150,000 on it and has a bunch of cosmetic problems. It also has been sitting for over a year. I am lead to believe that it has the 4 cyl 2.5 in it and i know for sure it is auto. What do you guys think?

yeah i don't know about that truck but i do know they had it running just before winter but never drove it.

 

Are you sure she would like the stiff ride of a ranger? My '98 cost me $4000 and what I thought would be a few hundred more to get it road worthy cost more like $2000 with all the work being done by my father and I. With other repairs, the total investment into my truck is now $8000 and it is mostly stock. It seems that I am building a new truck piece by piece. An old ranger might not be the most financially feasible vehicle.

 

Coil sprung rangers ride tons better then t-bar trucks. which the one they are looking at is coil sprung

 

Look no further...someone made a thread about it...its got to ride smooth if it had dead bodies in it AND you cant get more reliable than 17k miles...take out a loan for the other half...
