Check engine light came on.

The other day the CEL came on while I was going to work. So the next day I stopped by my mechanic's place to find out what was going on. What showed up was TPS and the rev limiter was reached. He asked me what the hell you doing. I told him that the only thing that I'vve done is went to pass a couple cars and I reached the 90 mph cut out point. I've never revved it up So I'm wondering what has happened. Any ideas.

Gas cap?

Also, I've had different grades of gas, then the gas attendant not put the cap on tight make the light come on. Thats only if you got gas recently.

You had to hit 90 to pass a car? Sounds like you need to slow the **** down. The MIL is not going to come on just because you hit the rev limiter. The rev limiter is there so you don't blow your **** up.

What was the CODE that came up?

ive hit my rev limiter and 92 mph governor. no problem.

just throwin it out there, idk if you can do it on ranger, but on my stang my tps is adjustable. i need to have it set to as close to .98 volts with key on ignition off as possible. there could be a number like that for the ranger and you might just have to adjust it.
