New rims for the Ex

Finally picked up a new set of wheels for my '96 explorer and snapped a couple of pictures on the way home. the stock 7 inchers were a little bit too narrow. here is what i decided on. D window steelie

The center caps off the stock teardrops snapped on but left a large gap which looked funny, so i swapped them out for some of the newer style ranger ones. i was originally planning on pulling off the pinstripes. but now im debating it. the look is growing on me and it looks like such a pain in the *** to remove the pinstripes.

i also came across this. not really sure what it is, but it is stamped flowmaster and should fit nicely under my truck

im happy with the way its coming along this is how it looked just a few months ago.

looking good, once you get the rest of the chrome painted black it will look a lot better. you need 5% tint all around too

yeah buddy!

are you talking about the pinstripe on the wheels? I think it should be left alone. just enough contrast to set the wheels off since you went black/black.

great to see that chrome grille gone too

How did you prep your bumper to paint it black? Did you strip the chrome off or just scuff it and paint it?

Thanks,
Sean

Looks good! I'd leave the stripe... breaks all the dark colours up a bit. It'll look even better when you get rid of the rest of the chrome!

thanks guys.

i want to black out the windows so bad, but its not going to happen. there is a reflective tint built into all the rear windows. putting darker tint will bring out the chrome. i want to do five percent all the way around but my windows will just look chrome. lame!
