exaust for my 2.5l

So I'm thinking of doing some exhaust work on my 2.5l. I'm thinking of taking out the muffler and running a pipe out the side of my truck in front of the back tires.

Has anyone done something like this before? If yes how did it work and were you happy with the results?

I watched to a video online of a 2.5L with a flowmaster on it. All I have to say about it is this: a 2.5L is a 4 cylinder. It's gonna sound like a 4 cylinder. As long as you like the ricey sound go for it. If you want beefy, truck sound save up for a V6.
