whats this wire for?

whats this wire for?

okay on my 2002 edge ranger, i have a green wire behind the emergency brake, i followed the wire and it leads to nothing, does anyone have an idea what this goes to?

i can get a picture later if anyone has any help

it might be the wire that lights up the e-brake indicator light in the dash. I could be wrong but I remember having to tap into a green wire behind my ebrake pedal when I was installing my navigation head unit

Yeah thats probably the wire that grounds out when your emergency brake is engaged, making the light come on

The body be sure to clean the paint off for a good ground.

theres a female style terminal on both ends of the wire, should i just snip that off and ground it or is there a place to plug that female end in?

I also have 02 ranger edge just looked the green wire is for the e brake light there should be a switch at the back of the e brake hardware that it plugs into as for the other end not sure i would recommend finding a wiring diagram hope this helps
