Sucks *****. Reminds me of when I bought my truck....they bounced on my paperwork too so I lost my first loan and had to get a second one FAST. Luckily, got it at a better finance rate.

It can still be listed as new, regardless of the mileage it now has.

Not if it has been previously registered and insured as a personal vehicle,
which has to happen before you drive it off the lot. History will show a previous owner, has to be listed as used unless they wanna be fraudulent.

No, it doesn't have to happen before you drive a vehicle off the lot. People take home test drive vehicles overnight or for extended periods of time with temporary tags quite often. In this case, dealerships will always obtain a copy of your current valid insurance, which covers you.

Sounds like this is exactly what happened. The dealership let him take it home pending financing, or he was approved but it fell through. If the later, the dealership probably didn't contact him hoping they could get him financed through another company, which didn't happen.

X10..that same thing happened to me back in feb..looked at buyin the wife a used 09 edge and they let us take it for the weekend....i was pretty much approved without OFFICIALLY being approved but we decided againt it at the time.....they do that in hopes of you getting your heart set on it and accepting some crazy outrageous paymnt if it comes to that.

How long did you have the truck, was it past the 10 day period listed in the link? If it was, I'd report them to the attorney general.

Its not like they cheated him out of anything. They gave him the money back it doesnt seem like they took him for anything... Nothing illegal about anything they did.
