When was your Ranger there for you?

Ok the title maybe misleading but I figured some might find this a little comical.

This is my story from today Oct. 14th

Anyone that knows me knows that I race dirt bikes. Every vehicle I own earns it's own "Fox Racing" decal. I place one on the windshield and one on the back glass all of them are white. Keep in mind I've traded and bought 7 vehicles in the past 3 years.
I finally decided this past weekend it was time for it's first "Fox" decal so I put a 3x3 on the winshield and a 6x6 in the back glass like the past 6 vehicles I've owned.

I was driving to work today in my dark green Ranger today that I've had for about 3 months. I start making my way towards town when I get a call from my aunt (who lives in spitting distance of my place) and shes frantic and says you better call the county sheriff he was just out here looking for you and has the whole Huntington precinct looking for you (I'm thinking what the hell did I do?) and she gave me his number he left with her. There have been 7 robberies in a 15 mile radius of my home and 3 victims have been family members of my own. So I call the number she gave me 3 times and no answer, all while I'm still pursuing my daily commute to work. I finally get ahold of the Sheriff on the 4th try and I'm talking to him and he says "There have been multiple people spot your truck or a similar truck at 6 of the 7 robberies that have taken place in the last week. He's like we need to get this straightened out if you aren't the felon".

I ask "well give me the description of the truck that has been spotted at these robberies"
He responds "It's a dark green 4x4 small truck with a white fox emblem on the front windshield and one on the back glass".

On my commute I notice a white F-150 following me turn by turn.

Right as I get ready to continue my conversation with him I pull up to a 3 way stop sign and an arruption of sirens go off. I stop and put my truck in park and just knew what was about to happen. I told the sheriff "They found me". The guy in the F-150 jumps out with a gun and a cop pulls in front of him. Both are out of their vehicles in the blink of an eye with a gun at my back glass.

The cop yell's "Put your arms out the window where I can see them"!
So I do

He comes over swings my door open and pulls me out. By this time I'm pressed up against my Ranger there are 8 cops (state, county and unmarked) in all directions of the 3-way. He spreads my legs, checks me for weapons, cuffs me and lays me on the hood of the cruiser.

Keep in mind I haven't even gotten a word out to these guys yet. They go through my truck throwing everything all over the place. They never asked to search my truck or nothing. This was about 3pm today, so everyone turning onto 5th St. headed home was passing me on the front of this cruiser (family, friends and yes my boss).

They go through my truck and my wallet until they came up with nothing. I had nothing incriminating. The sheriff that I spoke to on the phone pulls up. He get's out the car yelling at every one of the them "YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG D*** GUY".

Apparently the guy who had been doing the robberies was headed out from another robbery and the sheriff had caught him and arrested both of them and they were in a dark green 1998 S-10 with a white "Fox emblem" on the front windshield and one on the back.

So they take my cuffs off and the off duty cop gets a chewing while each one of the cops line up and shake my hand, apologized and thanked me for being so cooperative. All while I'm looking at the two fugitives in the back of the cruiser.

So they let me go after some laughs and giggles and a few more handshakes. I call my boss, fiance', friends and family letting them know the whole story and asked the boss for the day off to go put on some fresh underwear.

As I start driving my ranger to my fiance's to see her I decided to take a detour to where the last robbery took place during my false arrest. As I slow down to the house there's a flat bed truck. I stop and look at the truck and all I could say was "It's a small d*** world" The truck the robbers where using to lute houses was the dark green S-10 I owned 2 years ago and I had put a fox sticker in the front glass and the back and the guy I sold it to was the felon.

Holy shiz man. That's some crazy stuff.

Since my truck is so "identifiable", just like everybody's here I get called in all the time for stupid sh*t.

It sucks when you know every cop in town.

"Why aren't you in school?" "Officer, I leave school at 10am everyday. I have early release." "Oh"

I'm about to fill a complaint of harassment of them. Fo' realz.

Lol wut?

I live in Northeast Ohio. 10 minutes from Summit Racing. My city has a population of 18,000. Our neighbor city Akron (which is 10 minutes away) has a popular of 400,000+.

It takes me 2 hours to drive anywhere that is remotely country.

I work at a coffee shop and am related to a local cop. So I happen to know a bunch of Tallmadge cops.

Less talky, more thinky.

White Fox stickers anybody?

Yeah man I agree with Stone, you might wanna de mod you vehicles before you get rid of them, but what are the odds for most people doin the exact same decal color and placement on two different green trucks!

insane! the part about them searching your truck with out permission is justified since they had the grounds to do so. but at least they appologized later.
