Can this be done with a laptop or will i have to buy a 229.00 dollar tuner and go at it? or is there any way to "tune" the engine by hand/manually by adjusting certain parts? Ive never done this to anything before but my bud has a BMW that he swears gained a little <10 hp form really playing with the engine sequences. Thanks guys

 

I use a laptop to tune professionally, but then again I have the software to do so for certain manufacturers.

I don't know if there is any open source software for your truck.

You can gain much more than 10hp.

I use a tactrix cable to connect to obd2. I use software to adjust fuel & timing maps. In some cases I can actually rewrite the engine management strategy by changing the XML code.

Leave the tuning to the pros. Buy a programmer, the hard work is already done

You can always purchase a tune from a pro and tweak it to your liking.

I have the SCT pro racer package from Lasota Racing.
It is about $730 though.

 

I need help finding a way to tune my truck and have had hell finding one I know that this is a ranger forum but I have a 1997 Mazda B2300 2.3 with 8 plug head and am almost done installing a turbo in it it has a T3 turbo 35lb injectors SVO pistons and a ported head but I know before I even think of starting it I need a programmer any help will be gladly appreciated to point me in the direction with a part number for a tuner.
