need help truck shakes

i have new tires. there the right size. the tires were balanced and front end alignment.
my truck shakes. its not a bad shake but its annoying. it is noticeable. its not a constant going down the road but it will keep shaking like it will shake for a while then it will stop for a phew then start back up again. its a 1998 ford ranger v6 4.0 almost 170k miles. im not sure if i posted it in the right thread if i did not sorry for any inconvenience to the mods. plz move it to the right place. im still new to all this technical crap.

did they tourque the lugnuts? If so its standard practice to have them retorqued after about 100 km's if they are alloy wheels. Either that or sounds like the balance is out. Can you tell where the shake is coming from, which wheel?

Old shocks were the culprit of my highway vibrations.

Go to a different shop and pay the $20-$30 to have tires remounted, balanced, and rotated. I bet that's the issue.

could be a wheel bearing. My truck would almost 'vibrate' at about 45.. I put up with that for a year till the truck finally wouldnt move anymore...

x2 on the wheelbearings. A common cause of vibration when everything else seems right.
Another thing to look at is the rims. A bent rim can still balance perfectly. Every time I have tires mounted I try to get in the shop and actually watch the wheels spinning on the balancer. A lot of tire techs just close the lid and wait for it to finish the cycle without paying any attention to whether or not the wheel is straight.

ya but I would imagine a bet rum would cause irregular wear to the tire.

One way to see if it is a wheel bearing is to remove both front tires, and then pull and push on the hub. It shouldnt move, at all. Not even a little bit.

Do you have what could sound like 'loud tires' while driving? At first I associated my wheel bearing to my tires, however as it progressed, the sound got louder and the vibration got much worse, till the point where, at 10mph it sounded as though I had tractor tires on the truck, and well had my gf been sitting in the passenger seat she would have enjoyed herself greatly.
