Some of you went with the 06 style mirrors, How do you like them? My mirrors are now showing signs of age, (my chrome caps) Hey I got 6 years of of the them... Anyways, the mirrors are beginning to look pretty dingy... so, I was looking at getting a new set, (heated) and was wondering how you all like the new 06+ mirrors over the older style.

The 05 and older sets, I can get heated with puddle lights for less than $100. The new style, only heated, no puddle lights, and theyre a little more at about $140.

P.S. there is no way to get the chrome caps off my mirrors, they are glued on with subfloor adhesive.

 

I just swapped to 05 mirrors cause the maybe its just me but the 06 mirrors are to boxish for non lifted trucks

 

06+ FTW. I love the sqaure ones, it makes it look like the other ford truck, but I see what you mean of if its not lifted it can seem alil out of place, but luckily I dont havta worry about that ha.

Easy fix, lift it

 

id go with the 05, but thats because im cheap

 

older style.. the new ones just dont look right to me becides i dont like square mirrors any way

 

06...EASY

 

I love my 06 squares I swapped in last weekend. They are physically a bit taller, and visibility is improved. The passenger mirror seems more convex as well, reducing my blind spots.

If you even slightly like the look of square, then go with the newer style. You wont be disappointed.

 

I like the rounded ones better but the 06+ are so much bigger with better visibility it's hard not to love them.

 

DId you consult with your son (Downey)? I'd go with what he says. Glad to see you're back. How was your trip overseas?

 

Even though I still have the 05 style ones I would like to have a pair of the 06+ ones. Also you can get Heated signal mirrors for the 06+ just look for Muth Mirrors in google

i think there both stupidly designed and id drill my doors and mount 80s style if i wanted mirrors that function. how ever i do think the 06+ look better then 05. i dont get how you take a mirror and cut the inside lower corner off, the most useful part of a properly adjusted mirror.
