Superlift front drive shaft
Superlift front drive shaft
Looking for a Superlift front Drive shaft for my 04 Fx4. I just bought the Superlift kit and 3 inch body lift, but didn't buy the drive shaft because I am broke now anybody got a used one they would like to sale?
The stock shaft will last anywhere from 5k to 20k miles most likely.
I had a 3 inch bl and 33's on two rangers now and i never replaced the front driveshaft put 40,000 miles on both before totaling them but had no problems. And yes I used my 4 wheel drive a lot... Idk maybe I was just lucky. Still recommend doing it though
a Body lift has nothing to do with driveshaft angle changes.
I have 35k miles on my stocker and it's still ticking, barely. There's no vibration, but like vansnxtweek, the grease boot has been torn for quite some time. The Superlift shaft is not something you need immediately after the lift is installed, you have time to save up or find an alternative. You could look into having a custom one made by a local driveline shop. I had a custom rear built by Six States for around $315, I imagine a front would be similar.
I have a mechanic buddy who said he can make my stock shaft work. He said there are 2 or 3 different ways to do it so I'm gonna give it a shot. He also said that a explorer front shaft would work and he could fab up the part that goes into the transfer case.
Ok, good point. But you would think the abuse of wheeling would put you on the 5k end of that spectrum instead of the 20k. Ya know? I guess I would just get the shaft right away anyways so I dont have to worry about it and then always have the stocker as a spare.
idk if Trepaul has sold it yet, but he did have a good deal on a superlift shaft:

He hardly had it on there before he switched to the manual t-case (needed a different shaft for that)...
