Gurgling Noise when Heat is First turned on
Gurgling Noise when Heat is First turned on
Whenever I turn my heat on I hear a gurgling and water pouring sound for a few seconds. It also happens when I turn it off but just the gurgling noise. It seems to also do it when making a right turn like water sloshing. The gurgling noise I've had for years now but the water noise only since it started to get cold back in October. Recently replaced the heater valve and burped the coolant for a good 1/2 hour and got lots of air out of the system. Is there still more air or is this kinda normal?
Thanks

No coolant around cap
Pull your cap let the truck run for 15 minutes or so with the heat on high. Top off the coolant if you are low, then reinstall your cap. If you have never replaced the cap on your truck I would do it, they do wear out.
Its just an insurance policy as with the cap off the cooling system is not as effective. Also the 15 minutes is just a rule of thumb you want the truck to warm enough that the thermostat has opened up burping air out of the engine to the radiator.
Did this twice already and replaced the cap a few months ago. It has gotten a bit better.
