diesel motors

there has been alot of talk about planting a ranger with a cummings or powerstroke motor, has anyone ever thought about the smaller motors like a TDI from a jetta or audi? im thinking the size would work out alot better and some of the audi motors are already mounted in the right direction for the AWD right?

discuss

there are so many options out there for motors. Mercs have a variety of diesel motors and they are all mounted for RWD or AWD that i remember. im going to look into it.

pretty sure you could fit a deutz, or perkins in one also. 4bt in mine looks almost like a factory option thats how well it fit, but not all are like that lol. a TDI would be pretty sweet to put in a bagged ranger....

I would like to see someone build an 01+ ranger with an ISB3.9. Modern version of the 4bt. Even stock it would motivate the Ranger. Just think what a tad more fuel and air could do. If I had the time and money I'd be on it. I have to many toys as it though.
