Bye Bye Fiddy

Well it's a good thing I still own the Ranger! I just sold the F150 for a pretty good profit of about $1600! The truck just wasnt pleasing me as I am too used to having a mint truck and the F150 was not. I am still selling the Ranger as i want an F150, just not that F150 lol.

I want to find one with less miles (around 60k or less). nothing on carfax, less owners, no faded plastics, and a different color (that red showed everything!!), and NO DIESEL SOUND

So now I am in the search for one. As of the moment I am eyeballing this beauty:

http://www.townandcountryford.com/us...39c65dae82.htm

Its a year newer, has 15k less miles, and is SUPER SHARP i love the color! BUT compared to my lariat, it doesnt have heated seats or climate control and leather is cold without heat. So I have to think about it. Also, i wouldnt pay that price. id try to get it at around 18500.

But like I said, i am just eyeballing it. I would like an 06+ but if I cant find one in my price, ill find a nicer 05 or get this one

that diesel sound is a common problem with the 5.4l. My neighbor just had his 2010's replaced (10k miles)

So i have heard! thats why I am weary about buying an F150! I really want one, just dont want the more than common problems! Id have to get an 11' model to not get them and i dont have 45k laying around nor do I want that high of a truck payment lol!

i can't remember, but why are you wanting to trade (up) out of a ranger? 'cause yours is MINT... i'd keep it, IMO... but that's coming from the proud owner of an 88...

We have a child on the way and we need two vehicles that can carry a baby safely (ie baby in the back seat)

That one looks like a step down from the one you had.

If I bought that I would have to do some modding

Nice profit. Buy a 4.6L and it won't have the problems.

Scott, don't let a lack of heated seats be a final deal breaker. There are nice aftermarket ones that work well that we could put in.

Wirelessly posted (Droid2)

Glad you kept the Ranger. An Explorer would be something worth looking into...you could still pull your boat.

scott i know your worried about the issues with the 5.4 and all that crap, and it seems like everyone here has a hard on for explorers, but have you ever thought about looking at a silverado or sierra crew cab? i love the looks of the f-150s and the comfort of them, but the 5.3 in my dads yukon hasn't any problems at all and the other people i know with 5.3s havent had any issues whatsoever. an 05-07 would suit you nicely all loaded up. only reason i'm suggesting this is because buying a truck with no issues vs a truck with possible expensive issues could suck with a baby on the way. i know everyones gonna flame on me for suggesting it, but i love my dads yukon. its got power and its pretty damn comfortable.

x2.

thats why I mentioned instead of a 04, 05 5.4 you should stick to like an 06/07 4.6 if you want to stay in the F150 , might not be the biggest v8 on the line but it will get the job done and you won't havta worry near as much.

I like Ford just as much as anyone else but I wouldn't just stay on F150's for what your needing. I know ill probably get flamed for this and ill be the first one to say im a die hard ford fan, but when I sell my ranger and go to a fullsize, I will def be looking at more things than just an F150 and I will not be shocked one bit if the next vehicle in my drive isn't a Ford F150 and I have a strong feeling if everything goes well it might just be a cummins.

Sorry brah, I dont drive bowties, i dont care If I were given a silverado, i dont drive bowties. my family would disown me as well haha.

Meh I'll find me something. Either way the Ranger is going (I love it but its gotta go). I drove the ranger yesterday and today and it felt like I was in a tank driving over rocks. Harsh ride to say the least compared to the nice quiet ride of an F150. F150s ride soooooo nice.

I am test driving a Scab right now to try out all of my options. Its an 05 larait. Just a year newer, but anyways, i dont think I want this particular truck, just drove it to try out the Scab. Its nice though. All the same options as my 04 had minus subwoofer.

Also, the engine does NOT have the diesel sound my 04 had and is not lacking power like my 04 did. It doesnt bog for a second when I get in on the gas sometimes like the 04. Just testing the waters, test driving a few more

Also, overall, the truck is in super excellent condition. the red one looked good from afar but up close it had plenty of knicks and scratches and alot of faded plastic. This one doesnt.

Im hoping to find a loaded FX4 crew cab though

I know you mentioned it but it's better to hold out for a crew cab. The extra room will be nice down the road. I'm sure the supercab will handle a child just fine, but I would still want the extra doors.

I believe I am. Its gonna be hard to find what I want. What i want I can have. little outta my price range.

My dream fiddy:

06-07 White Lariat or FX4 fully loaded.
4x4
Tan or gray leather (heated)
low mileage
FX2 chrome slatted grille
Factory Chrome wheels

This truck ranges from 25-29k depending on exact mileage. I dont want to spend over 22-23k
